Florida Panther
The Florida Panther has tawny-colored body, black whisker patches, and a long tail. It may be one of the most endangered mammals in the world. In the 1900's, the Florida Panther was considered dangerous, and it became the object of over hunting. By the 1950's, its numbers were so low, the state of Florida protected it from hunting. In 1967, the cat was put on the Endangered Species List.
