Origin: Ashanti tale

Theme: "...It's a true saying: When you dig a hole for somone else, you will fall into it yourself."

Plot: Anansi plans to find a fishing partener to do all the work while he gets the profit; however, Bonsu hears of the plan and decides to turn Anansi's plan around on Anansi. Bonsu cleverly succeeds and Anansi finds the fool is himself.

Characters:

• Anansi - A lazy and sneaky man.
• Aso - Anansi's wife who did not like her husbands plan.
• Laluah - Bonsu's wife and friend of Aso.
• Bonsu - A clever man who wants to teach Anansi a lesson.

Illustrations: Are beautiful watercolors by Bryna Waldman who captures the humor and African flavor of the tale.
