Rick coordinates the high school information technology
programs for the Broward County Public Schools, including six Academies of
Information Technology, six Oracle Internet
Academies, and three Dell A+
Academies. Rick wrote the state
Curriculum Frameworks for the Academy
of Information Technology. Rick received his Masters in Educational
Technology from Florida Atlantic
University and is beginning his
doctorate in Educational Leadership at FAU.
Rick also taught High School Social Studies for nine years.

Jose has been a part of the Miami-Dade Public School System
for the past 15 years. Currently, he is
the assistant principal at Palm Springs
Middle School in Hialeah,
Florida. As the curriculum leader and director of
educational technology, he has led Palm Springs
into the cutting edge of technology in education. He specializes in the use of Web Page
development to improve the communication process of the day-to-day

Patricia Fritz, Reading Language Arts

Patricia graduated from Florida
State University
with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She has 20 years of classroom teaching
experience. She earned a Masters Degree
in Educational Technology from Florida
Atlantic University. She has also worked with BECON, the Broward
Education Communication Network where she assisted with web page design and
distance learning.
Shatril Harris, Science
START, Intelâ
Teach To the Future and Succeed Project Coordinator, Miami
Museum of Science
Shatril is a University
of Miami Alumni. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a
minor in Secondary Education. She
currently works at the Miami Museum of Science.
She is the Project Coordinator for the Preparing Tomorrow’s Teachers to
Use Technology Catalyst Grant from the U.S. Department of Education. She is also the Project Coordinator for the
Intelâ
Teach to the Future program and the Project SUCCEED. She likes singing, art, and walking.
Tanya Martin, ESOL
Human Resource Development, NOVA, Broward
County Schools
Tanya coordinates the Software
Preview Center
for Broward County Schools as part of her role as Educational Resource
Specialist for the Staff Development department. Tanya is a former middle school computer
education teacher and has taught adjunct courses in technology integration for Nova
Southeastern University.
Rose Parsons, General Methods
Senior Technology Specialist, Broward
County Schools
Having taught various subjects and grade levels for 22
years, Rose currently works within the Broward
County School District
as a Senior Technology Specialist, training teachers to integrate /infuse
technology with their curriculum. She
also writes technology integrated training modules and curriculum and presents
workshops within various venues. Her
technology fortes include Web Quests, Inspiration, Kidspiration, and drawing
programs.
Dr. Pei-ru Wang, Curriculum
Educational Technology Professor, Union Institute and
University
Pei-ru is originally from Taiwan. She earned her Master’s Degree in
Instructional Design and Technology from the University
of Iowa. She also holds a Ph.D. in Adult Education with a
specialization in Human Resource Development from Florida
State University. Her research interests include virtual team
communication, distance education, and learners’ self-identity
development. She is a professor at Union
Institute and University.
