Grades The College of Education (COE) recommendation for satisfactory completion of the practicum and internship requires both the Cooperating Teacher and university supervisor to render a positive assessment of a student’s final internship. Grade Criteria for Unsatisfactory Final
Grade Criteria for Incomplete Grade Criteria for Development of an
Individual Development Plan (IDP) At the four-week checkpoint,
the university supervisor, in collaboration with the classroom teacher will
assess for the intern’s demonstration of sufficient mastery of skills
and professional attitudes necessary for taking full classroom responsibility.
A satisfactory performance is mandatory in all seven domains of the Florida
Performance Measurement System. A rating of “needs improvement”
in any area requires that an Intern Development Plan (IDP) be generated
by the Block 5 Coordinator(s), university supervisor, and Cooperating Teacher.
The team, in a planned meeting, will share the IDP with the intern. The
IDP will specify a remediation plan of action with a timeline for its completion
and recommended support for the intern. For additional information, see
“Policy on Remediation and/or
Removal in Final Internship” .
