Welcome! You are now officially Final Level Teacher Candidates! As you know, this internship and senior seminar are extremely important components of your educational preparation for teaching.
Internship orientation and senior seminar sessions are MANDATORY FOR ALL TEACHER CANDIDATES. Attendance will be taken and punctuality is expected!
The Internship Office reserves the right to withdraw a teacher candidate from the internship if the teacher candidate does not attend these sessions.
You are required to contact your cooperating teacher at your assigned school before the FGCU semester begins. Please do so. Internship Orientation and Senior Seminar meetings will begin on Thursday, January 7th and Friday, January 8th. On Monday, January 11th and Tuesday, January 12th you will be visiting your assigned classrooms in order to familiarize yourself with your students, co-operating teacher, and classroom procedures and to complete a specific assignment.
Your first official internship days, as part of your internship timeline, will be Wednesday, January 13th and Thursday, January 14th. This will then be followed by Senior Seminar on Friday, January 15th. Please pay close attention to the dates, times, and locations of our sessions which can be found on the website at http://coe.fgcu.edu/Internship/
