Scoring Rubric for Grading The Learning Portfolio

Learning Portfolios are graded in the following areas: Integrative essay (Reflective narrative), content for each standard, artifact entries, grammar, coherence, proofreading, and format. The highest score in each rubric area is in bold. To pass, a student must score at least the second highest value in the "Integrative Essay" section and the "Artifact Entries" section. In addition, the total point value must be at least 18 or higher out of the total possible 24 points.

Each of the ten essays communicates how well the student has mastered Florida Educational Leadership standard; the student used several of the concepts in the "Guide to Writing Reflective Narratives" in each essay. References to artifacts are included where appropriate and links made to the artifacts within the essay. Each essay has at least 3-5 artifacts to show student has the experience and knowledge related to the standard. References to the literature are cited where appropriate to help explain the knowledge base.

The Learning Portfolio is clearly labeled listing the student’s name and the words "Learning portfolio" and “Professional Portfolio.” The Practicum Portfolio may also be included.

 

The Portfolio must be in electronic format, and the student has used or supplied the appropriate software for faculty to read the portfolio, and has supplied the portfolio on disk (CD-Rom, zip, or URL to Website). There are clear instruction on how to use the student’s portfolio.
