2003 Crystal Awards Competition Begins
Call for Entry Submission

The Division of Distance Learning (DDL) of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) announces the call for entry submissions to the 2003 Crystal Awards Competition that will be given at this year’s conference in Anaheim, California. 

  The Crystal Awards Competition recognizes the most innovative and outstanding K-12 multimedia-based instructional, distance learning, and technology-based projects for 2002-2003. The 2003 Crystal Awards will select a winner in each of the three categories:
  • K-12 Instructional Multimedia  Projects
  • Distance Learning  Projects
  • Technology-Based Projects

Distance Learning Division Issue Series

  The Division of Distance Learning is proud to present a series of issue-oriented papers and asynchronous discussions on topics of general interest to the field of Instructional Technology. The first one speaks to issues of accessibility of web pages. Stephanie Roberts at the University of Northern Colorado writes about cognitive accessibility and how it is much more than making pages physically accessible to all learners. Read the paper and take part in the discussion, moderated by Stephanie, which will last for 30 days.

Gilbert, Johari and Sawyer Elected to Division Leadership

  DDL President David Winograd announced the winners of the member-at-large election via the DDL listserv last February 4, 2003. The winners were Patty Gilbert, Abbas Johari and Salley Sawyer. Congratulations to the winners!

Also, he informed the DDL membership that the by-laws passed unanimously.
