Goals for ACEI:
To promote the inherent rights, education and well-being of all children in their home, school and community.
To work for desirable conditions, programs and practices for children from infancy through early adolescence.
To bring into active cooperation all individuals and groups concerned with children.
To raise the standard of preparation for those actively involved with the care and development of children.
To encourage continuous professional growth of educators.
To focus the public's attention on the rights and needs of children and the ways various programs must be adjusted to fit those rights and needs.
Meetings are held every first Monday of each month at 5:00 pm in the Library, room 443.
Events:
World Teacher's Day: Eagles Educate created certificates for all of the COE professors in honor of World Teacher's Day. We held a voting session in which students were able to vote for their favorites COE professors.
Walk for Autism: We will all be registering and walking as a group in the 2009 Walk Now for Autism Southwest Florida. Saturday, November 7, 2009 Estero Community Park. The Southwest Florida Walk Now for Autism offers everyone a fun-filled experience with entertainment, refreshments, an autism community resource fair, and much, much more.
Real Deal: This event is going to take place on Monday, October 5th at 5:00 pm in the library room 443. We will have three first-year teachers and one block 5 intern talking and sharing information about the transition from being a student to a teacher.
Eagle Expo: We took part in Eagle Expo to inform prospective students about our branch and the many events that we hold throughout the year.
Christmas at Health Park: This Christmas we are going to light up the faces of the sick children at Health Park Hospital. We will be making and collecting homemade cards from our students, and then delivering them to the children staying at the hospital.
More events will take place during the Spring semester!
ACEI Annual Conference will take place April 28 - May 1 in Phoenix, AZ. This provides students with an opportunity for professional development. Students can also be presenters. Students can choose to present any past projects, lesson plans, units, etc. that they feel proud of and would like to share with other professionals.
