Dr. Debra Giambo is a Professor of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Literacy. She teaches courses leading to the ESOL Endorsement on topics such as second language acquisition, cross-cultural communication and understanding, applied linguistics, testing and evaluation of ESOL, ESOL curriculum and materials development, and methods of teaching ESOL. She also serves the College of Education as the Elementary Education Co-Program Coordinator and the ESOL Content Contact. Dr. Giambo's research interests include effective instruction and assessment for English language learners, teacher preparation. 

Dr. Giambo also serves FGCU as the Faculty Ombuds. In this capacity, she works with faculty to try to resolve matters in an informal and confidential manner.
