Dr. Tunde Szecsi is Professor of Early Childhood Education at Florida Gulf Coast University. She earned her Master’s degrees in Hungarian, Russian, and English language and literature in Hungary. She taught at high school and college level in Hungary for 17 years. In 2003, she obtained her Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education at University at Buffalo. Since then she teaches courses on topics such as child development, early childhood education, cultural and linguistic diversity, second language acquisition, and ESOL curriculum and assessment. She also serves the College of Education as the Elementary Education Co-Program Coordinator. Her research interest is culturally responsive teacher education, heritage language maintenance and humane education.
